Biography

A void lurks in the mind of each of us - a fear of loneliness and inadequacy. A lack of self-sufficiency and self understanding. We live in a constantly changing world, we are confronted often with violence and unrest, nothing appears safe, nothing secure. We each strive to find a sense of belonging, a reason for being.

My work deals with the extremely complex relationship bewtween humans and the land and our environment. We are in awe of it, we destroy it, we idealize it, we alter it, we buy and sell it, we use its resources, and we create new environments in place of natural ones. Instead of adapting to the environment, we adapt the environment to suit our needs.

The destructive consequences of these actions, I try to express in my work.
I ask the viewer to question the role they play within their environment, how they affect and are affected by the world around them.
